Hello, my name

is Jenny.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
— Jeremiah 29:11

Life as a southern maker.

I tend to look around and think, "I can TOTALLY do that."  And then I do.  Being creative and making is what keeps me happy and grounded.

A little about me.  I grew up overseas and longed to find some roots.  I met my husband while attending college and married him after landing my first job at UAB.  We have three beautiful children and some dogs... and a rabbit!  So in all my "free" time, I feed my creative soul by being a photographer, a cook, and a sewer... I'm will never say I'm a seamstress because that I am NOT!

My husband had so many hobbies and collections that I wondered what I was passionate about.  He encouraged me to find out what I loved and to go for it!  It started with a camera, then cooking and baking, which then lead to a sewing machine and serger. I tried to separate these loves but now know that there is no way to simply talk about one.  I equally love the creative process.  Seeing the separate elements and putting them together to make something beautiful.... that my hands made.  It's intoxicating.

I am overwhelmed with thankfulness for the passion that God breathed into me.  Thank you for visiting my little blog and I hope you get something out of it!  God bless!
